Our forged steel strapping (also known as wrought iron), like our other metal is simply waxed to slow the aging process. This waxing slightly darkens the natural medium gray tone of the forged steel. Texture varies greatly and can have pits and hammer marks, evidence of the handworking. Care is the same as with distressed steel.
