Archive Designs created fireplace surrounds and hoods for the bar, lobby, ballroom, Golfer's Grill, spa and over 50 guest rooms, including the Presidential and Governor Suites. Other various projects included forged andiron grates, hammered copper numbers, custom cabinet pulls and straps, fireplace screens and others still in progress. Although The Lodge has only been open a short time it is already considered one of the finest hotels in the world and is being written up in many top journals, including Architectural Digest, New York Times, Spa (Worldwide Guide 2003), Architectural Record, Style 1900, American Bungalow, Leading Hotels of the World, San Diego Magazine, San Diego Daily Transcript, Traditional Building, Departures, Food & Wine Magazine, Esquire, Departures Magazine, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Riviera Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, T & L Golf, Gourmet, Fashion Wire Daily LA, San Diego Metropolitan, Town & Country, Links Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Santa Barbara Magazine, LA Times... Over its brief lifespan, the Lodge has already garnered a handful of impressive awards, including: The Grand Orchid Award for interior/exterior architecture/lighting and landscape, AAA Five Diamond Award, named to Conde Nast Hot List, Pinnacle Award 2003, Wine Spectator Magazine's Award of Excellence, Top Suites Award- Pure Decadence 2002, official site for the 2008 U.S. Open.
